Pasturetec earth Stake / Stand
Rather than putting the energiser on the ground, the earth stake takes it out of the moisture and creates an earth.
An earth stake is essential for an electric fence because it completes the circuit and ensures the fence delivers an effective shock. Here’s why it’s needed:
How It Works:
- Power is sent through the fence wire from the energizer.
- When an animal touches the fence, electricity flows through its body to the ground.
- The electricity must return to the energizer via the earth stake to complete the circuit.
- If the grounding is poor, the shock will be weak or ineffective.
Why a Good Earth Stake is Crucial:
- Stronger Shock – A well-grounded system ensures maximum voltage reaches the animal.
- Consistent Performance – Prevents voltage loss, especially in dry or sandy soil.
- Prevents Malfunctions – Poor grounding can make the fence ineffective, even if the energizer is powerful.
Best Practices for Earth Stakes:
- Install in damp soil for better conductivity (avoid dry, sandy, or rocky ground).
- Use multiple stakes (spaced 3m apart) for larger fence systems.
- Check connections regularly – Rust or loose wires reduce effectiveness.
