Description

Get ready to face the wildest weather with the Typhoon jacket – a true performer against wind and rain from all directions. Crafted with a three-layer fabric, it excels in waterproofing, windproofing, breathability, and durability.

The impressive 20,000mm waterproof rating ensures no rain gets through. Seam-sealed and DWR-treated for extra defence. Designed for comfort and mobility, with extended length for lower body protection and a standard-length main zip for unrestricted movement. Adjustable hood toggles and silicon rubber grip on the shoulders add convenience. Micro-fleece lining in all four external pockets and around the chin adds warmth.

Tested in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand – one of the wettest regions in the world with an average annual rainfall of over 7 metres – the Typhoon Jacket is ready for any challenge. Stay dry, cozy, and protected during hunting, hiking, farm work, or cheering on the sidelines.

HOW TO WASH YOUR JACKET

  • You can spot clean any dirt, marks or stains with a damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild detergent.

  • To wash your jacket, use a mild or “sensitive” laundry detergent on a 30°C wash (or cold wash if that’s not an option).

  • Alternatively, you can use a proper jacket wash from Grangers or a similar product.

  • Don’t use anything that contains fabric softener or bleach as that will diminish the waterproof coating.

  • Ideally, use a front loading machine or put the jacket in a protective mesh wash bag in a top loading machine.

  • Hang your jacket on a coat hanger to air dry.

HOW TO RE-WATERPROOF YOUR JACKET

  • Your jacket may need to have its DWR water repellent coating restored every 3-6 months if you’re wearing it often. You can test your jacket by seeing if water beads on the surface or absorbs into the fabric. Sometimes a wash can remedy this, but it may be time for re-activating or re-applying the DWR.

  • You can “reactivate” the DWR coating by exposing the jacket to heat after washing it. Either put it in the dryer on a cool or warm setting or, once it’s dry, iron the jacket on the coolest setting (no steam).

  • If you need to re-apply the DWR treatment, there are spray-on and wash-in treatments you can use. We recommend Grangers Wash and Repel Waterproofing.
