The Farming Investment Fund is open for applications

The Farming Investment Fund (FIF) is the latest government grant scheme launched to support farmers with technology, equipment and infrastructure that will improve the productivity of farms in a sustainable way. Round 1 is now open for applications however it has a tight application window, closing at midday on 7^th January 2022. The scheme is divided into two, with farmers being able to claim up to £25,000 in the first round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund. The second fund, the Farming Transformation Fund, initially focuses on water management.

Applications can be made online, through a portal, with a relatively quick and simple process. If applications are successful, applicants must purchase the item, and can then receive up to a 40% reimbursement through the FIF. It is anticipated that this will be a highly competitive scheme, with applications being made by farmers, horticulturalists, forestry owners and industry contractors.
